OOC: Warning: Revelations ahoy!

*In Daein Keep...*
Micaiah: Sasha! Eiva! Darrah! It's been a long time, hasn't it?
Sasha: Well... yes and no, Your Majesty. It hasn't been long for us... but what about for you?
Eiva: (Hey, I said something like that when we first left...)
Micaiah: Now that you mention that, it hasn't been so long for me either. What brings you here today?
Darrah: (Goofy lifespan jokes ahoy.)
Sasha: Quince stayed with you after the campaign against Chase, didn't he?
Micaiah: Actually... he did. He had no other place to go, and I couldn't just leave him to wander... also, he asked if he could check our library about something... but apparently, he didn't find what he was looking for. ...Why do you ask?
Sasha: I had something I wanted to ask him about. That's all, really.
Micaiah: ...Are you wondering the same thing I'm wondering?
Sasha: I don't know, Micaiah. I can't sense the flow of people's thoughts like you can.
Micaiah: I'd imagine you'd have felt it, too... when he uses his healing magic, it feels very different from the kinds we normally use. In fact, it feels closer to my Sacrifice than anything from a Heal staff...
Sasha: I was wondering about that and more. He doesn't really feel like a human...
Micaiah: And doesn't it seem odd that he says he just "appeared" here?
Sasha: It looks like he's got a lot of explaining to do.
Micaiah: Should I call him in?
Sasha: Judging from all the questions we have... yes.

*later...*
Quince: You called for me, Your Majesty? ...Hi, Sasha!
Micaiah: Quince... Sasha has some questions for you.
Quince: ...I bet she does...
Sasha: Should I go elsewhere, or...?
Quince: No... I think I want Queen Micaiah to know, too. She's been helping me all this time...
Darrah: (Oh, he's totally got a crush on Micaiah. How cute.)
Eiva: (You think?)
Quince: Ask away, Sasha.
Sasha: Quince... is it true that you just... woke up here?
Quince: Yes. I went to sleep... and I woke up on the ground in a field near Nevassa. I wandered around for a bit, asking people where I was...
thank goodness Queen Micaiah had gone out for a walk that day, or I might be dead now.
Micaiah: ...It doesn't feel like he's lying. And only someone not native to this world would be confused in the way he was.
Sasha: ...And now I have to ask a really big question. Quince... you're not human, are you? Four years should have changed you quite a bit, and yet you barely look a day older than when we left Tellius.
Quince: ...You're right. There's no real hiding the fact anymore: I'm what you would call a third-generation Halfblood...
[OOC: His mother would be the second-generation Halfblood, mind you.]
Sasha: ...I knew it. Only "humans" with some percent of Tensakutan blood can use non-elemental healing magic... And, as I'm sure you know, only Halfbloods can use non-elemental offensive magic.
Quince: My grandmother was a Halfblood. My great-grandmother- her mother- was a Tensakutan. There are tales of her going on to be the Spirit of Memory of the Nama Village Tower of Memory... before I ended up here, I was going to visit the Tower and see if those tales were true.
Sasha: ...That's the Tower of Memory outside the village I come from!
Quince: You live in Nama, too? I'm surprised we haven't met before, then.
Sasha: That ties into my next question: what year is it in Tensakuto, according to you?
Quince: ...Huh?
Sasha: When I asked people around town about you, no one had even heard of you. And Nama is rather tight-knit.
Quince: Oh, I see... When I left, the year was... 5404.
Sasha: That's- that's almost 3400 years ahead of us!
Eiva: Ooh! What is the future like?
Darrah: Do we want to know?
Quince: Um... I'm not sure it's changed too much. They say Tensakutans like to drag advances in technology out to match their lifespans, even though they're already pretty advanced.
Micaiah: Halfbloods... are they anything like our Branded?
Quince: ...Not really... Humans value Halfbloods for their healing abilities, and Tensakutans value them for the fact that they can use magic... People generally have no problems with Halfbloods.
Micaiah: Tensakuto must be quite a place...
Quince: ...Sasha. You're a Tensakutan... do you have any idea how I might have gotten here?
Sasha: Quince, I think you may actually be... a Plane Walker, much like myself. Or, if that term doesn't ring a bell... they're sometimes referred to as Travelers. It's not just Tensakutans- anyone with some form of Tensakutan blood can be a Plane Walker. In fact, there are some human Plane Walkers in worlds where humans can actually use elemental magic due to higher mana concentrations in their bodies. I warped to my first world outside Tensakuto much in the same way you did... but I was able to get back quickly.
Quince: Plane Walker... You mean I had the ability to get back home all this time, and I didn't?! ...And why didn't you take me home?
Sasha: ...I never got a chance to, Quince. The Tellians were gone before I could find you. And... your magic abilities aren't very strong yet. You're only a third-generation halfblood. Your healing abilities shouldn't have been cut very sharply just yet. Maybe, when your ability to harness Quintessence is stronger, you'll have the power to return home.
Quince: ...As much as I'd like for you to take me home right now, I guess I'd better take advantage of the current skirmishes to train! Thanks for the idea, Sasha!
Sasha: ...Skirmishes?
Micaiah: Two continents- Magvel and Elibe- are trying to start wars with various Tellian nations, and no one knows why. Daein hasn't been targeted yet, but I wouldn't count on that much longer...
Darrah: Looks like we're back in business!
Eiva: Fun...

OOC: I'm ending this post here because it's taken me too long to type. I am NEVER doing year calculations for Tensakuto ever again ><;
