OOC: How so? Is the Campaign becoming less interesting? If so, I'll stop the deadlock so everyone can fight Chase.

OOC: I think fighting three villains at the same time is a little much, especially since they keep switching back and forth between helping and hurting us, but other than that, its fine.

OOC: I think leaving Chase and his minions open to more than just Alex would be a good idea. Sometimes, people get "locked in" to a situation because they're waiting to see what Chase will do next, only to find that he's still dueling. In regards to the villains... For the time being, we only have two (?) villains (Chase and Taizaki?), only one of which is a major villain. Falcon has done what looks like a temporary Heel Face Turn, so I'm not sure that he's a big threat right now. *at the gates of the Shadow Embassy...* Darrah: We're finally here! ...But the doors are slammed shut. At least they were smart enough to do THAT. *suddenly, a large black crow flies from over the Embassy. It lands in front of the troops and transforms... into Naesala! Everyone is visibly shocked.* Naesala: What's the matter? You all look like you've seen a ghost. Eiva: (He did NOT just invoke that cliche!) Sasha: Naesala? but... I was told Naesala was killed when the Great War between all those factions broke out... Naesala: Well, obviously, someone was telling you a lie... or at least a half-truth. I ALMOST died during the primary invasion of Kilvas... but that man's henchmen decided I would make a better prisoner. I was in no shape to try and escape, so... here I am. Darrah: (...Do you think we should trust him?) Sasha: (I'm not sure. However, if we do trust him and something goes wrong... I'm fairly certain we can fight our way out.) Elincia: ...That jewel-like device on his hand... that's the same device they put on us when we were taken prisoner! Darrah: To mark the prisoners, or...? Elincia: That and something much, much worse... King Naesala! Please don't come any closer, or- Naesala: I get it. None of you trust me. You're all expecting another strange stunt involving a betrayal or a fake... but I'd say you're wrong! *he takes a few steps forward and the device begins to glow brightly. He falls to his knees.* Ungh! What... what is this thing doing?! Elincia: ...I knew it... The device activates when the one bearing it goes a certain distance away from the prison area... and it releases that... "mind-control mist." For us, it activated just as we exited the main gates... Naesala: Mind control? What are you- AGH! *the device's gem explodes and surrounds Naesala in a red mist. When the mist clears, the base of the device (that is, the part that anchored the gem to his hand) falls off of Naesala's hand.* Elincia: That explains why the device seemed to have just "disappeared" when I awoke... it's set to fall off after it activates... Sasha: (Intriguing! Perhaps, if it can be done safely, I would like to further investigate the properties of this "device..." Maybe it's supposed to fall off so that people just think the victim went crazy as opposed to being controlled?) Eiva: Sasha! This no time to be amazed by strange technology that probably shouldn't even be here! We've got trouble! Naesala: *he slowly stands up. After a lengthy pause, he transforms and starts attacking various soldiers* Darrah: Ack! Here he comes! *blocks Naesala's talons when he swoops by her* Sasha: Eiva! Get ready to do your thing! Eiva: ...Got it! (...There's GOT to be a more energy-efficient way to do this... making that rainstorm takes a ton of energy, not to mention the Seventh Invocation itself...) OOC: Yeah, I went there. If I shouldn't have, tell me and I'll retcon this post to oblivion.

Eiva: Okay... I've got an idea... Darrah: *"swats" Naesala away with her axe, making him promptly go off to harrass Zelgius instead* Oh BOTHER. Eiva: Maybe if I combine the power of the Seventh Invocation with another spell... Sasha: Do whatever works... Naesala probably isn't going to be able to take being ping-ponged between soldiers much longer... Eiva: Here goes... *several large, glowing "globes" of water appear over Naesala and fall on him, drenching him and knocking him to the ground. The water on him glows with a bright light which covers him and then fades away, dripping into the surrounding puddles- much like how the others were purified. When the light is is gone, Naesala "de-transforms."* ...Ack... that's... not much better. *she breaks the puddles back into energy and then slumps to her knees* The Seventh Invocation is obviously slightly beyond my ken, but at least I can actually use it, you know? Sasha: Good work, Eiva. ...Should we wait for Naesala to wake up, or should we just drag him in? Darrah: We ought to wait for him to wake up. If we just drag him in, he might just get captured again. And that would just BITE. Sasha: Fine... Eiva, if you're up to it, can you heal everyone's wounds? Eiva: Of course! Just... give me a few minutes, okay? --- *a bit later...* Sasha: Remember when Naesala said he was captured during the PRIMARY invasion of Kilvas? You know, the one that everyone else said was done by the Goddess's army? Do you realize what this means? Eiva: ...No? Darrah: Enlighten us, Sasha. Sasha: I bet Chase has been active for much longer than we've seen... From the looks of it, he invaded Kilvas first, captured Naesala, and somehow made it look like the Goddess's army did it. Eiva: But Kilvas never hosted any of Chase's generals. Sasha: That's because the Goddess's real army moved in shortly after his attack. He wouldn't try and kick out a Goddess's army while his power was still limited to that of a normal mortal. However, he may have gotten to others before we first saw him. Darrah: Well, if he did get to them, I bet we're bound to find them inside. Sasha: ...Sounds about right... Eiva: Hey, look! We've got signs of life! Naesala: *sits up with a groan* Ugh... what happened after that thing burst and the mist appeared? And why am I soaking wet?! Darrah: (...Oops... we should have dried him off. GOOD JOB, LOSERS.) Sasha: (Darrah, shut up.) King Naesala... that device releases a sort of "mind-control mist" when the person it's attached to gets a certain distance away from the prison area. When you took those few steps, you hit that distance limit, activating the device. You were attacking us until Eiva cast the purifying spell, which requires water. Does everything make sense now? Naesala: ...So THAT'S why the Queen of Crimea didn't want me to come any closer... Darrah: So, are we ready to get moving... into THE BELLY OF THE BEAST? Eiva: (...That failed to deliver, Darrah.) Darrah: (Shut up, Eiva.) Naesala: ...Can I dry off a little first? Darrah: Uh... yeah. Eiva: Sorry about soaking you like that, but you'd still be brainwashed without the water. Naesala: Well, thanks for getting me out of that bind. Now, if you excuse me...

OOC: Yeah, the whole side switching is kinda pointless, IMO. I'm making a rule, from now on, the side you are on now, you stay on, so if you want to be a villain, you cannot switch to "good".

OOC: Well, maybe it should be more like we can't side-hop ALL THE TIME. I'd say an "evil" character could validly fight with the good guys, sorta like Falcon is now, if it helps them achieve their own ends. But you can't just have your character be all "lol i is teh good/evil nao" just because. So...yeah. I suggest that side hopping be limited, but allowed within reason. (insert sarcastic comment about Jill HERE)

OOC: Um... no. Pardon me for saying so, but I think that completely disallowing side switches is a BAD idea. Side switches = drama and maybe character development = making the RP a little more interesting. Granted, they probably shouldn't be done frequently (and so far, I don't think they've been done -too- frequently), but if a character would switch sides for a certain situation, they shouldn't have to be warped for a rule that pretty much shuts down their character. Most people have been pretty good about sticking to their side, with only two sets of characters changing sides at multiple points (Falcon and Sasha's group). Also, what if any neutral characters show up? A character that's neutral to the main dispute might switch sides a lot. Switching sides is not "pointless," it's showing how a character works in a certain situation. So, you're going to limit a character's options just because you can't keep track of whose side they're on? Sorry, that's just not fair. I'm trying not to raise a stink about this (and failing, but whatever), but I really don't think the new rule is a good idea.
EDIT: ...Led basically said what I wanted to say, only in a more civil fashion.

OOC: Agreed. What Led said.
However, if you want to side swap, wait for the next campaign type of thing to begin.
.....maybe I'll introduce a new group of evils that are bent at killing those that opposes them. For about 99% of the time, they won't sideswap....however, thinking of what they would do...that's another thing...

OOC: Yeah, Led is right, you shouldn't just stop it. I think we need to just focus on one evil villain at a time though. We need to figure out which one we're going to stop.

OOC: I think the choice of which villain to tackle is kind of obvious. Of the villains, Chase is the only one that's actively trying to kill anyone/everyone. Falcon's rendered a non-threat by his Heel Face Turn, and Taizaki (?)... I have no idea what he's up to, but I'd say he's the lesser of two evils. Aaaanyway... LESS TALK MORE RP PLEASE *shot* --- Sasha: Is everyone ready? *the doors of the Embassy slowly swing open* ...Whoa. (That's... not the slightest bit creepy...) Darrah: Well, if the door opened, there's probably something behind the door opening it. Let's go see! Eiva: ...Nope! Nothing! The doors just swung open! Sasha: I've got a bad feeling about this. *they've entered the Embassy...* Darrah: Oh, great. It's a maze. Probably littered with dead ends and unpleasant surprises, too. Elincia: There are three paths here. Should we split up? Eiva: ...Whenever a group splits up, they're pretty much dead meat. Right?Sasha: Unfortunately, the area is too big... if we tried to explore it as one big team, we wouldn't be able to cover as much ground. Eiva: How are we going to divide everyone up, then? Sasha: ...Hmm... The Empress's group takes the left path... the Queen and the Royal Knights take the right path... and we take the center path. Naesala: ...And where do I fit into all this? Sasha: (...Uh oh. Who needs him more... the Empress, or us? We both have a ratio of two mages to one fighter...) Darrah: (Yeah, but I'd say that the Empress is in a bit more danger... I don't know why, but I have a feeling-) Sanaki: (Are you calling me weak?!) Sasha: (...Good going, Darrah.) Uh... King Naesala can go with the Empress's group. We should be fine. Naesala: Well, Empress... looks like I'm guarding you again Darrah: Wait! We're forgetting someone again! What group will Falcon go with? Sasha: Hmmm... Well, I think we ought to let him choose...
