For me, I played Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and loved it. My friend, an importer, told me about FE8, which i picked up and loved.

I first started playing fire emblem because all my friends had it, and when I tried it, I though it was awesome. Now, I play fire emblem more than any of my friends do!

I found it the hard way. Closed my eyes and pointed to a random game in the used GBA game section at GameStop, and voila. FE7.
