Man, this blog really grinds my gears to the limit. This pathetic blog writer obviously hates anime/video games, and is a total nutcase. Anime Encourages MurderAnd... FurriesThis guy knows NOTHING about anime, absolutely NOTHING. Anime fans, we must revolt! Read these garbage blogs if you must, I'll quote some choice quotes and rant about them. Doujin, for starters does not mean amateurs, otakus means anime geeks? Come on dude, if you want to bash something at LEAST use better terms and EVIDENCE to support your debate. This guy obviously uses Wikipedia and believes it is 100% factual. Err... I don't think I need to say anything, you say what you think about this. Reaserch? Don't make me laugh, that garbage was anything but reaserch Mr Wikipedia user. At least when I rant I have actual links to sites that prove my points, this guy apparently, just feels the need to enrage anime fans. NOT EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN' FILE SHARING SITE/Tool IS PIRACY! If it was, then why is Esnips still around? Or rather Limewire, many people use Limewire but are not told it is not illegal/piracy. *gags* No, just no. Now, I could rant about the other awful blog but I don't feel like ranting anymore, this guy craves attention and I will not give him any more. PS: The only thing I found funny about the other blog besides the fact that it is unfactual is that picture of the guy with the other guy with the bunny suit, that is all.

Wow, what a moron. Generalizations and stereotypes do not make an argument, especially when the person knows nothing real about what they are arguing. I'm with you Ice, this guy is an idiot.

"Otaku = nerd/geek in Japan." "Otaku = anime nerd/anime geek in westernized standards."
Big difference between the two.
------
"doujin = doujinshi = fanmade comic."
This person obviously doesn't know what doujin means. He was on the right track of amateur, but it was incomplete and, thus, was wrong wholeheartedly (especially saying that doujin goes straight to amateur when it goes through doujinshi first. And even then, he's wrong as they're FANMADE comics made by amateurs).
------
Lolita: A young and attractive girl not old enough for sexual activities.
Another strike. Lolita doesn't mean sexually active.
------
Don't know about the axe murder thing. I heard it was true, but I don't remember which anime didn't air because of it. Not going to go on this one.
------
All downloading of free stuff is pirating unless noted (such as an official site giving free samples). And because of downloading, companies like Geneon have either been going severely downhill or have been completely shut down. Geneon has been shut down because of filesharing. About 80% of anime is downloaded and causes a lot of problems to the anime industry, and causes them to lose a lot of money. Also, fansubs aren't always correct, and they're not properly translated for the ease of the viewers so that they can read the subs. It also can be poorly subbed . Plus, with downloading, you're running a severe risk of downloading a bug.
------
As for the definitions in the article...and other random things I picked up...
-anime is not ann-ee-may. It's either an-ee-may or ah-nee-meh....I think....really depends on which word pronunciation you prefer.
-to properly pronounce it, doujin is actually doh-jihn.......or something like that....maybe it's doh-jeen... The word is also incomplete. It's a shortened term used to describe doujinshi, which is the proper term. Also, most anime artists start with doujinshi. Even some of the greatest ones started doing doujinshi before they did high production stuff.
-loli and lolita are not usually in sexual activities. Probably 70% of the time, they aren't. It's a term used to describe the young girls not old enoug for sexual activities, if I remember right.
-ecchi actually means art (mainly anime) that is drawn to be posing in a manner that usually is sexually attractive. Some can be nude, some may not be. Sometimes, they CAN be in sexual manners, but there are also other that aren't.
-hentai is only anime pornography as a whole. There are sub-categories for each.
-furries are actually people who are attracted to animals more or less. They don't have to dress up as them and be in sexual contact with them.
------
As a whole, there is no concrete proof that anime is the cause of such things. They're only catalysts to help their already psychologically screwed up brains. It's like video games as well. If it was true that anime causes people to murder or rape, anime would've been banned many years ago.
------
GAH!!! Too much.

It seems that the owner is talking about Higurasho no naku koro ni (good show, WATCH IT). It is described as killer lolis (that is what it is), though lolis in western culture and lolis in Japanese culture are different. Wiki article for reference. That plus sweet loli are the basis to make any moe or loli type anime. As for the third quote, what he said is somewhat true. Most idiots will complain that they have to buy a hard to find DVD just to see an episode that could not be aired due to season limit. This can be considered a true OVA and will be a collecters item. A lot of stores sell anime that has never been licensed in america (kinokuya, simply kids and so forth) so it is common for DVD sales to happen. Online sites are even better for buying anime DVD's that have never been intended to be released in america. As for the blogger, he has several wikipedia references before admitting to using it...not a good idea for someone who has no ground to object something on

Almost as idiotic as a Brawl "tier list" I read.
It had Jiggly on the bottom, Diddy and Toon Link in the bottom 10, Yoshi in the top 10, Mario above average, Marth at average, and Kirby as #1.
I should find the link. It would provide lulz.

Yeah, I read on wikipedia various false information. Yes, wikipedia is a good source of information but be warned that ANYONE can edit it. Also, what about the whole "anime causes people to murder" thing? Do you agree that it does? Am I a serial killer just because I watch Death Note?

Well, I guess it was mere coincidence that the boy struck his father, after all, he probably had a motive and an opportunity to do it. Either that or he really DID follow the anime. However, I cannot say that everyone will do that and that it was the fault of the anime.
