First you need the stats. To find the battle stats, you need both people fighting's stats, the weapons they are using, and the magic formulas. Anywho, then you calculate it all at, and you should get Hp, Mt, Hit, Crit, Avoid, Defense, Resistance and AS for each person.
Then you RNG it. For that, you use an RNG. There are several, most people use either www.random.org, www.randomnumbergenerator.com, or www.randomizer.org.
You need to find who goes first, first. To do that, pick a number, one or two. Then ya have the RNG pick a number between 1 and 2. If it picks your number, you're first.
Then you choose your move. Nine times out of ten, this'll be "attack", though it could also be "Wait" or using a Vulnerary or something. Anywho, let's say you attack. Know that conducting battles gives you the advantage of items, as the opponent will always attack. Know this when you decide with someone who RN's the battle.
You tell the RNG to roll a number between 1 and 100. If it's lower then or equal to your hit %, you score a hit. If it's higher, you miss. Same for crits. Then your opponent counters, you see if they hit, then see if they crit, all with your handy RNG. If someone DAs, then roll their hit/crit numbers too.
A player's character will always attack where they can't be countered (If applicable), so if an archer does battle with a mercenary, there would be no counters, just alternating attacks. If a pirate with a handaxe fights said archer, there would only be counters on the archer's attacks.
Now, most times, nobody'll be dead by now. If they are, well, the battle's over. But if both people are still alive, the next round starts. This time, whoever didn't go first the first time gets to move first, and they get to pick attack, or wait, or item, or whatever.
This continues in alternating turns until one person is Ko'd.
For each win, you get 75 gold, for each loss, you get 25.
Note: You must post the entire battle, its outcome, and all weapon uses used up, all exp gained, and all WEXP gained. A like so:
Jon, level 12. Jeyger, level 8
Jon attacks (81 (Hit RN), 100(Crit RN)) HIT!
Jeyger attacks (90) Miss.
Jon attacks (DA) (32, 8) CRITICAL!
Jeyger is defeated.
Gains:
Jon: 2 WEXP, -2 Iron sword, 20 EXP
