Alright, hotlinking is when you post any content from a site without uploading it onto a uploading site such as Photobucket.
While quotes would not be considered hotlinking, which is obvious, pictures directly linked from the site is considered hotlinking.
Not fun if you are a site owner who is losing bandwith (site space), the more you hotlink, the more bandwith the site owner will lose.
Youtube is legal naturally as you have permission to upload things from their site as with any other video host but if I see someone having a hotlinked avatar/signature/whatever there WILL be consequences.
If you must use an image from another site PLEASE make an account on Photobucket or use imageshack to upload it and then place it in your avatar.
