There's a Gheb topic, so I think that I can get away with making a topic honoring certain very useful NPCs, right?
The most famous is the 3-13 Archer (he's the archer on the upper left- by the one on the ballista). If I recall correctly, he's famous for jumping down a ledge, taking out a whole bunch of Laguz, and then somehow living to tell the tale.
However, my favorite NPC is the left Lance General on the center steps in 3-13 (the Lance General on the right is alright, but he tends to miss too much to be of much use). This guy will take hits like a champ and then deal just about enough damage so that one of your team members can finish off the Laguz and get the experience. Quite useful!
Are there more NPCs that have helped you out like that? Discuss, etc.

Other then Nailah, Tibarn, laguz kings etc, I'd have to say the bishops in 3-12 are pretty brave going right near an incoming Falcon Knight when they are in grave danger.

The cavalier of Rath's unit in chapter 22 (Eliwood's story - FE7) is amazing. He (usually) lives for at least 7-10 turns.

I think the soldiers in PoR's chapter 13 (the one where you recruit Astrid and Gatrie) are pretty good. Although they do love to steal my kills...

Really? I thought they were pathetic. Except for one crazy, suicidal one with a javelin. He took out a myrmidon, a mage, and half-killed a knight before he bit the dust.

That's one of the few reasons I hate the Black Knight... In 4-3, he shows up right in the middle of the map and steals a ton of your experience.  |

On a speed run, PoR Tibarn in 17d and 28 is god.

L'arachel (ephraim hard mode...pirate ship...*shudders*) is NOT mine... but I'd say that mine would be the horses in RD.  They don't know where to go for a few turns, and just mill about...it makes me smile! |

Though I shouldn't be worshipping the enemy, the thieves are pretty smart often, they usually go for the nearest treasures to irk you off.
